Teaching
We think every child must be educated. However the situation is different in Togo. Not only do the children lack classroom blocks to study, there are also few teachers to reach out to these children in the communities in Togo. Together we can help to educate these children who would otherwise be refused an education. STAESA's teaching program in Togo provides a great opportunity to work very closely with schools and vocational institutions in Lome and its surrounding villages. The learning conditions in these villages are very poor. The program allows volunteers/interns to get in direct contact with the children to share their knowledge and make an impact in the lives of the children. Often volunteers/interns are provided with free accommodation or placed with a host family who lives very close to the schools. Volunteers/interns will teach both basic and conversational French and English. Other subjects can also be taught if you have knowledge or experience. Get closer to children in Togo to have great insight into the culture of Togo. This is very interesting program with lots of fun working with children. STAESA is also seeking funds worldwide to build classroom blocks and also provide writing desks for these schools in Togo. Volunteers will teach basic and conversational English and other subjects can also be taught if you have knowledge or experience in those subjects. No previous experience is necessary. You must be 18 and above and must be the type who is very patient, passionate, understanding, and loves children. That is all that you need. The countries and communities are rich with African culture, beautiful site seeing, and open-minded, kind, and lovely people who like visitors. The children are very serious to learn -- like many other children in the world -- and like making friends. All of this will make your stay in Africa very splendid.

The governments of all the countries in which we operate have declared war against child illiteracy. The governments are enforcing and championing the rights of children to a basic education.

STAESA's Teach in Africa program supports and enhances this project. Education is a strong focus in Africa, but in some areas teachers are in short supply. Together we can make a big difference. Join us to reduce the major problem of teacher shortages in the communities. STAESA's Teach in Africa program is organized in collaboration with schools and communities in Africa to bring education to the poor children who really need what you have to offer. There is a strong need for teachers who are fluent in English (for English speaking countries) and fluent in French (for French speaking countries) in Africa.
