Join us to teach in Mali. Make an impact in the education of the people of Mali and touch lives. STAESA's teaching program in Mali gives you a very great opportunity to work very closely with schools and vocational institutions in Mali. The program allows volunteers/interns to get direct contact with the children to share their knowledge and impact their lives. Volunteers/interns are provided with accommodation on the school premises and most often volunteers/interns are placed with host family who live very close to the schools. Together we will put smiles into the lives of the children in Mali. Volunteers/interns will teach basic and conversational French. Other subjects can also be taught if you have knowledge or experience in those areas. Get closer to children in Mali to have a great insight of culture of Mali. This is very interesting program with lots of fun working with children in Mali. Donations are welcome.

Orphanage

You will be making a difference in peoples' lives working in an orphanage in Mali. Work includes social work. It is very interesting having lots of orphans all around touching and holding you just to express their gratitude having you with them. Most of these children lost both parents and it takes someone like you and STAESA to let them know that they are loved. To be able to work and have fun with these lovely children, you must really like children and understand the situation of these little poor orphans. You can do it and you will have fun. Join us now.

STAESA's orphanage program provides a great opportunity to work very closely with children of ages between 8 months to 17 years most of whom lost their parents to HIV/AIDS. The big smiles and love of these children towards volunteers leave lots of memories in the minds of volunteers hence making it difficult to depart from them at the end of the program. Together with local volunteers at the orphanages, volunteers/interns work very closely with the orphans. The volunteers/interns teach basic and conversational French. activities include: games, drawing, feeding, washing the children and other creative activities. Other subjects can also be taught if you have knowledge or experience in those areas. The program is designed in such a way that no matter where you find yourself in Mali, you will have fun. The children are so lovely. Donations are welcome.

Health

Hospitals and clinics need volunteers/interns in both rural and urban communities. The program sends volunteers to work in hospitals and clinics in Mali. Medical doctors and volunteers/interns will have the opportunity to work with a medical officer in charge in both rural and urban communities. Medical doctors work with medical officer in charge for a while to treat patients with diseases then after volunteers/interns will be left to handle the patients alone, work in the laboratory and pharmacy. This is a very interesting and life changing experience. You can do it, you will really have fun and you will achieve a lot before the program comes to an end. Volunteers and interns are provided with accommodation and food at the hospital. We also placed volunteers with host family to enable the volunteers get immersed into the culture of the people very quickly. Together with the most senior medical officer in charge, the volunteers/interns make a great impact in the lives of the patients. The program also include HIV/AIDS project to help and eradicate illiteracy, stigma and discrimination surrounding HIV/AIDS hence making the work of health professionals easier. What a great privilege would it be to have your voice heard handling programs on the radio live! The opportunity is right here in STAESA's Mali Media Program. The program is full of fun. STAESA is working very closely with media houses in Mali. You don't have to be a journalist to be able to work on STAESA's Media Program. This program can also be combined with teaching or orphanage program. Volunteers/interns get the opportunity to work with newspapers and radio stations in Mali. The program include news broadcasting and talk radio. Not only does the program exposed volunteers to the unique nature of media work in Mali, it also gives you an opportunity to gain more experience in programming, production, recording, research, reporting and many more. Construction

Contributing to the lives of the people of Mali by providing clean water and classroom block is really lots of fun. The communities in Mali really need clean water to survive and classroom block to enable their children study in a good environment. STAESA is providing water in the form of hand dug wells for many communities in Mali and providing classroom blocks for the communities. Volunteers/interns help in the construction to transform and bring lots of smiles to the lives of the people of Mali. Together with donors and volunteers/interns we touch lives, transform communities and make a great impact in the lives of the people in Mali. Volunteers work and live with the people in the community hence quickly getting immersed into the culture of the people. Activities include: arranging and parking of bricks, mixing of concrete, painting and roofing. The program provides an opportunity for the donors to see the empirical evidence of the reward of their donations. The program also includes food for-all-program for orphanages in Mali.

HIV/AIDS

STAESA in making a lot of difference in the lives of people of Mali. Together with local volunteers, volunteers/interns work very closely with HIV/AIDS patients at private homes, hospitals and HIV/AIDS homes. The program gives volunteers/interns an opportunity to have a direct contact with the communities for education and meeting HIV/AIDS patients for counseling, dispensation of food and drugs. Included in this program is outreach program where volunteers join the health team for a public HIV/AIDS awareness campaign and distribution of condoms. Volunteers/interns in the HIV/AIDS Mali project will be involved in educational and training activities meant to increase awareness and stop the epidemic of HIV/AIDS in Mali.

Women, Youth and Development

Join STAESA for these interesting creative activities to change lives and to transform communities in Africa. Come and let us go to Mali for this interesting program. You really want to see people been librated from poverty and unemployment. You just want to do something for the people of Africa. But you don't know how; we really share in your dreams. Come with us you will have fun and achieve a lot. STAESA is very concerned about the high rate of unemployment and poverty among the women and youth in Africa, and Mali is one of the countries STAESA is very concerned about. Something must be done quickly to calm the situation of unemployment and poverty in Mali. STAESA's Women and Youth Development program is very unique and interesting. The program touches lives, transforms communities, and puts smiles into the lives of the people. The program is divided into two categories namely: Poverty Alleviation project and Small Grants projects. The program allows volunteers and interns to work very closely with women and youth organizations to create and develop an income generating project (micro economic venture) in the communities in Mali.

The aims of these project is to alleviate poverty and to create jobs in the deprived communities in Mali. Volunteers/interns will also have the opportunity to work on the existing projects in the communities. The program also includes fund raising activities and education. Volunteers/interns teach the groups basic and conversional English, basic proposal writing, marketing and advertising strategies for their wires and method of job creation. At the end of the training program STAESA gives small grants to the trainees to start their business with. Other activities include candle making, tie and dye, batik making, dress making, farming, soap making, computer literacy and much more. The project allows volunteers and interns to be immersed quickly into the culture of the people of Mali. The program provides an opportunity for the donors to see the empirical evidence of the their donations. Donations are welcome.

All fees are paid to country director upon arrival.

The program fee covers administrative charges, airport pickup, first night accommodation, transportation to placement site, host family (food and accommodation), orientation and supervision, and mini-tour in the city.

Part of your program fees also goes into the community development projects such as HIV/AIDS programs, building classroom blocks, orphanages, old age homes, water and sanitation, feeding programs, women and development programs, youths development programs and poverty alleviation projects.
